Toddlers

Toddlers enjoy their days with us in the main building as toddlers’ needs are vastly different from the needs of older children and their needs often change rapidly. Our toddlers use creative arts as expression, explore the outside, natural world right outside the doors, and learn new skills such as feeding themselves and washing their hands. * Until potty trained (minimum 36 months).

Preschool Promise

Blue Skies and Butterflies proudly offers Preschool Promise. The Preschool Promise Program is a high-quality, publicly funded, preschool program that serves children ages three (3) and four (4) in families living at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level, children in foster care, and children from other historically underserved populations. Preschool Promise delivers high-quality early education and care: developmentally appropriate, inclusive, and culturally responsive.

Educational Programming

We are required to implement research-based educational programming aligned to:

  • Establish routines,
  • Intentional environments that are developmentally appropriate
  • Culturally responsive child experiences, and
  • Scaffolding supports designed to sequence learning of new concepts and skills.

Developmental Screening

We ensure each child receives a developmental screening to identify potential concerns regarding a child’s language, cognitive, motor, social, emotional, and behavioral skills withing 45 days of starting the program.

Program Environment and Curriculum

We create program policies and procedures that ensure the PSP program allows positive interactions between and among educators, administrators, and children. This includes ensuring environments are:

  • Safe
  • Respectful
  • Welcoming
  • Promote positive peer relationships and self-confidence

To be a Preschool Promise provider all staff must participate in required training and technical assistance that includes coaching, technical assistance, and trainings provided by the Child Care Resource and Referral agency. To be a teacher you need to be a step 8 or higher in the ORO. As a Preschool Promise program, we are required to participate in Spark, Oregon’s Quality Rating and Improvement System.

Kindergarten – 2nd grade

School Age

Our after-school program is designed to let a child that’s been at school all day relax and or get their pent-up energy out.
We offer the use of iPads for rainy days, arts & crafts, dance parties, or to just sit and relax with a book in our library area. We also have one and half acres of a park like setting to run around as much as they like.
